Manual Handling Training Course

We are all exposed to some form of manual handling at work. This can include lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling actions. Personal injuries can result from improper manual handling. With over one million working days lost every year due to incorrect manual handling, it is vital to train your staff in correct manual handling techniques.

We also offer both accredited, full day manual handling courses and also bespoke courses that can be tailored to the needs of your business. Please contact us with your requirements.

Manual Handling - What are the potential risks.

• One in three workplace accidents are caused by manual handling.

• Every year around 300,000 people in the UK suffer from back pain due to manual handling accidents in the workplace. Back injuries can range from temporary incapacity to permanent injury and include musculoskeletal injuries strains and sprains, hernias and foot injuries.

The law says that employers should avoid hazardous manual handling as far as reasonably practicable; assess the risk of injury from and hazardous manual handling as far as reasonably practicable; reduce the risk of injury from hazardous manual handling to as low as reasonably practicable.
